The Inspectorate of Electricity comes into existence since the inception of the full-fledged State of Meghalaya on 21st January, 1972. It was created primarily for the administration of the Indian Electricity Act and Rules. It is technically and administratively manned by the Senior Electrical Inspector and assisted by the Inspector of Electricity, Assistant Electrical Inspector, Electrical Tester and Ministerial Staff.
The works under the Indian Electricity Act and Rules are mostly technical and regulatory in nature. Inspection and testing are being carried out all the electrical installation throughout the state. The Inspectorate also rendered technical assistance to various Government Department where technical had is not available.
Inspectorate of Electricity Shillong has invited applications from qualified candidates for the recruitment of Electrical Tester vacancy in the Office of Zonal Inspectorate of Electricity, Tura on a regular basis.
